About Me

I create images with many types of cameras, ranging from modern digital SLRs to medium and large format film cameras which are more than triple my age! However, my true passion lies with the older cameras, using film to create black and white photographs, which are my favorite. I look for subjects which are off the beaten path, showing places and objects which others often overlook.

As I delved deeper into black & white film photography, I began developing my own film, with excellent results. Soon I took a large step further by setting up my own darkroom. This allowed me to fulfill my goal of completely creating an image in every respect. I begin with an idea, capture it in camera, process the negative, then painstakingly produce its ultimate form as a finished print. Throughout this process I'm using techniques and materials which have been largely unchanged for well over a century. The prints I create reflect this vintage, hands-on approach, and stand out from what is commonly found elsewhere.
